  • A perfect gift for a home chef, Füri's Rachel Ray 3-piece knife set offers a handsome presentation as well as high-quality, functional tools. The set is named after the Food Network personality and includes both a 5-inch and a 7-inch Gusto Gripo East/West knife. With features of both a cook's knife and a vegetable chopper, the two make handy all-around tools that suit everyday kitchen jobs. The German stainless-steel alloy blades are crafted without seams and have been cut very thin then hardened and tempered, so the edges start out extremely sharp, maintain their razor sharpness longer, and hold up well for years of heavy use. For exceptional maneuverability, scallops along the blades help the knives move through food without sticking, and the forged bolsters and weighty tangs provide balance and strength. The contoured red handles provide a striking finish and fit comfortably in the palm. Enclosed in a natural bamboo box with a hinged lid and slots for the knives, these tools store safely and securely when they're not working hard. Best washed by hand to protect the edges, this set comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Kara Karll
Designed for Food Network star Rachael Ray and branded with her name, this three-piece cutlery set features a 7-inch and a 5-inch Gusto Grip East/West knife in a beautiful bamboo gift box. A cross between a cook's knife and a vegetable chopper, each knife features an ultra-thin blade with an exceptionally sharp cutting edge that slices through vegetables and meats with more ease than the thicker cook's knife. Plus, the scalloped edges minimize food's ability to stick to the edge, which makes for easier, more efficient slicing. Crafted from a single, seamless piece of the finest CrMoV German stainless-steel alloys, the knives are then hardened and tempered for maximum edge retention, ease of sharpening, and long-lasting durability. They also offer forged solid bolsters and heavy tangs for enhanced strength. The knives are covered by a limited lifetime warranty and should be washed by hand for best results.

  • Super Annoying Packaging!
Prepare for the most annoying packaging decision of your life. I'd love to get my hands on the knob who made this decision...if you're out there call me and we'll set up a boxing match.

The knives are just fine and cut beautifully. I'm like Rachael...I'm not a chef, I just cook. I don't need knives that are a status symbol. I'd have given the set four stars if not for...the dreaded stickers.

Both knives had two stickers darn near permanently stuck to the blades, one with a color photo of demure Rachael herself and the other a clear one which contained a self evident warning of their dangerous sharpness which, of course, is intended to remind those who Darwin would have guessed would not survive, that one could carve himself like a turkey trying to get the stickers off. To add to the overall stupidity, each of the knives came with a thin plastic, protective, disposable sheath on which the stickers could have been placed.

SO...how does one get the stickers off? Well, they sure don't peel off. Take a fingernail to them and they simply tear into little shreds, leaving the glue behind. I soaked them in olive oil for hours in an attempt to penetrate the seal, which was a marginal help, and then in hot soapy water which didn't improve matters much. Finally, under the dulcet tones of my creative profanities, I took one knife blade to the other and scraped them off under hot running water, a chore which robbed me of a full episode of "Good Eats". And, as a final rude reminder of the company's idiocy, I had to take a scouring pad and scrub the glue under hot water until it was gone forever. I know God wishes for us to turn the other cheek and forgive, but I failed the Lord here, I still want to kill someone.

Be aware, this not the fault of Amazon, and probably not the fault of perky little Rachael either. And...once purged of their parasite-like stickers, the knives are probably worth the hundred bucks you pay for them.
For some, however, the experience may not be worth the stroke it has the potential to cause.

  • If Rachel Ray says so...
I love Rachel Ray, so I love this set. Sure, it's a hundred dollars for two knives. And, sure, they are trying to trick you into thinking it's a steal by calling it a "three piece set," despite the fact that there are only two knives and the third "piece" is just a box. None of that stuff matters. You see, these knives are endorsed by Rachel Ray, and she rules! So it hardly matters that these knives are super cool and really good at chopping stuff. That's just icing on the cake. What matters is that they say Rachel Ray, so you should buy them so she can keep making her show.

  • Life is easy with FURI
My boyfriend bought me the Furi Rachel Ray knives for xmas last year 2005. This knife set is so easy to use cutting whole chickens for roasting, onions, peppers, and potatoes with no effort making it easy on my wrist. I couldn't believe how smooth of a cut the knives generated after I went back to try my old knives. The bonus is the small knife that is included in the set, very good for small items like the ones in salads.
    Good luck.
