Throughout their nine-year career, Nickelback have stayed true to their roots, releasing five CDs of straight-up, unapologetic rock & roll. So how have things changed for the Canadian boys since the massive success of Silver Side Up and The Long Road? Well, brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger still live in the Great White North, and they still write hook-laden rock songs. The only difference now is that they have the satisfaction, 10 million CDs later, of smugly knowing that even some of their biggest naysayers will guiltily admit to singing along with Nickelback's catchy hits. On All the Right Reasons, one track definitely ranks high up in hum-ability: the first single, "Photograph," reminisces about the bittersweetness of high school in a small town--once again reconfirming frontman Chad Kroeger's ability to write memorable hooks. Regarding the rest of the disc: standard rock topics like love, lust, jealousy, and breakups abound, with riff-y delivery that longtime fans will love. The guilty pleasure bunch will also find what they need within the grooves, on the ballad "If Everyone Cared," the riff-heavy "Fight for All the Wrong Reasons," and the Metallica-inspired "Savin' Me." The disc's most impressive and simultaneously surreal moment, however, exists on "Side of a Bullet," a passionate revenge tale written about the killer of Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, which features one of the late Abbott's guitar solos as donated by Pantera bandmate and brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. --Denise Sheppard

Customer Reviews:
NICKELBACK ROCKS! TO THE REVIEW TITLED "ALMOST HURLED", HURL UNTIL YOU FEEL BETTER THEN BECAUSE I BOUGHT THEIR ALBUM FOR 3 SONGS AND ENDED UP LOVING THE ENTIRE CD. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT IT FOR 1.) SAVING ME 2.) FARAWAY AND 3.) ROCKSTAR AND NOW I LISTEN TO ALL THE SONGS. MY NEXT FAVORITES HAVE BECOME "FIGHT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS" AND "ANIMALS". I'M USUALLY NOT ONE TO LISTEN TO HARD ROCK BUT NICKELBACK IS THE EXCEPTION. NICELY DONE GUYS! OTHER SONGS I ENJOY BY THEM ON DIFFERENT ALBUMS ARE SOMEDAY AND HOW YOU REMIND ME. IF THEY HAD A #1s ALBUM WITH ALL THE SONGS I LOVE, I WOULD'VE BOUGHT THAT FIRST. ANYWAYS, EXCELLENT!! --2006-12-09Almost Hurled... I got this CD in my mailbox by mistake and decided to give it a try. I don't listen to radio much but I had heard of them. About 3 songs in I started getting the same sickening feeling in my gut that I used to get when listening to the likes of Peter Frampton, Foreigner and Bryan Adams back in the day. It was the kind of music we would put on and suffer through when we invited girls over. In order to hopefully show them we were "Sensitive" and get laid. Very sad indeed... Listening to it alone I felt like someone who just got caught masturbating. Not good. Had to take a shower. --2006-12-09More of the same Very good, like all their other albums, but it's like all their other albums. While I like Nickelback, they don't seem to be going anywhere musically. Then again, some may say: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. --2006-12-06Buy It Great CD to workout to or drive to. Really worth it, glad I got it. --2006-11-28Awesome CD! I was really impressed with this CD. My favorite songs are Photograph, Savin' Me, and Far Away. These songs are really well done, along with several other Nickelback songs on previous CDs. I'd really recommend "All the right reasons" - even if you've never heard of Nickelback, they did a nice job on this and it's worth a listen or two :) --2006-11-18
