Efficient and Economical Air Purifier 2005-11-26 The Hamilton Beach Air Purifier is probably one of the best on the market today. Granted it doesn't have an enormous room capacity, but for the price, and quality job it does, you cannot go wrong.

Upon opening it looks sturdy and well built, but as it is used, you can seem to tell it is on the cheaper side.

It does tend to get a little loud when set on the 'quick clean' setting, or if the sensor detects the air is contaminated. One note, it can sense when I use my deodorant, and immediately raises the speed to quickly clear it out. That being said, the carbon filter in the front tends to get dirty rather quickly. Especially if you have pets in the household, it will collect their hair. We've found as said before, vacuuming it once a week will prolong its use.

The germicidal light seems to also make a difference. My girlfriend usually is sick when entering the apartment, but after having it on for a few days, she has had noticable decrease in coughing fits. I really appreciate how much it has helped for her.

Overall, I highly recommend this air purifier to anyone with pets, and/or also with allergies.

A "Must Have" product 2005-10-24 This filter is a fantastic value. I tried to research the air moving vs. passive air cleaners and purifiers and ended up choosing this machine. Before receiving the unit I seemed to always have a runny nose. After the FIRST DAY my constant allergy/hayfever/irritation was GONE. I am most definitely a believer in this type of air purification

Excellent product!!!! Works great for kids and pets with asthma!!!! 2005-10-14 I bought 2 of these purifiers because our cat has asthma and had multiple severe attacks every day. We were using steriods, but they were not working very well and they have bad side effects. Since I have purchsed these purifiers (over a month ago), our cat has not had any asthma attacks and he was having them multipoe times a day. This is a safe way to help those with asthma in your family. Highly recommended!!!!
