Now Price: $20.99Manufacturer: APC 2000Features: - Comfort grip handle reverses for left-handed use.
- The sharpened and recessed leading edges of the blades cut through mats, while the transverse tines quickly comb out the tangled hair as they pass through the coat.
- Uniquely designed to remove matted, tangled hair in long-haired pets without losing coat length.
Your first defense against matting is frequent and regular grooming with a steel toothed comb. Deep regular combing removes dead hair and keeps the undercoat from tangling into mats. However, combing alone may not be enough to keep your pet mat-free for long. Using Matbreaker, along with regular combing, will let you keep your animal mat-free between groomings. Once matting begins, Matbreaker is far more effective than combing or brushing for dividing and removing mats. Matbreaker is great for thinning all types of undercoat--preventing the formation of mats. And, it is very effective for clearing those hard-to-reach areas behind the ears and between the legs and chest. First, comb or brush the area to straighten and clean the coat. This will minimize the longer hair loss and keep Matbreaker blades sharp longer. Second, work the matted areas with Matbreaker to strip out the mats. Matbreaker's Tease-Point blades allow you to lance into heavily matted areas and work out the tangles as gently as needed for your pet's comfort. Start at the outside (toward the ends of the coat), and work back in toward the roots. Insert the tips into the mat and stroke Matbreaker out toward the tips of the hair. The blades will divide the mat and the tines will help comb out the tangled hair. Your Matbreaker's blades are extremely sharp in the concave, recessed section. Use the same common sense precautions you would with any sharp object such as scissors, razor blades, or kitchen knives.
