Customer Reviews:
This printer allows ink refills :-) Get it while supply last I brought two of these printers on Amazon, since this is the last canon printer allowing refill. For this, I gave it five stars!
Its printing speed is not very fast, giving it always trys to print in color. Even the gray scale will be printed by color ink, instead of black ink. That would give better picture quality.
All new models of Canon printers using the 8 series ink tanks, which can only be refilled maybe twice. This printer using the 6 series ink tank, with a small black only. But all the ink tanks in 6 series can be refilled. Save the land by calling Canon to stop using 8 series ink tank, or only buy printers using 6 series ink. --2006-12-14Max performance per dollar. XP pro X64 driver! You don't always get what you pay for. Sometimes you get more, like with this Canon Printer. I was in the market for a printer that was compatable with windows pro X64 edition. This rare version of windows systimatically rejected the 2 walmart 'lexmark' printers I purchaced one for 40$ and the next for 112$. A quick download, self installing file got me the driver I needed from the Canon site. Even the software included works with my 64bit OS and Internet explorer x64. The setup was longer than I'm used to due to the head and various ink tanks, but then again this is my first mid-high quality printer. The prints I get are vivid and clean. I notice a very slight bleed when blue is sharply contrasted against yellow but only under intense scrutiny. The LCD is nearly useless, but for me this wasent going to be used anyway I don't print from a camera or card, but from my computer. Shipping was fast but I wasnt home to receive the package, after a call to my UPS facility they put the package on hold so It wouldnt make rounds on the truck all week and I picked it up in the evening. I appreciate the fact that they didnt leave it on my doorstop or my lovely neighbors in the extremely low income area i reside would have sold it on ebay by now. The printer is light for its capability, well packaged, and has yet to jam. I print mostly black and white low quality prints and have scattered off over 500 without the ink meter moving yet, and on visiual inspection the ink looks about 2/3 in the clear black 'tank'. I have only cheaper printers to compare this to but its far better than bubblejet. 9.5 / 10 but probably not for professionals. --2006-12-09Terrible experience with Adorama Camera I'd just like to state that I'm extremely disappointed that Adorama put an "adult signature required" notice on my UPS shipment of this item. No one in my household is home during the time that UPS delivers, and thus, our package that should have been delivered a week ago now sits in the UPS warehouse 20 minutes away until I can take time off of work (ridiculous) to go pick it up. It makes me wonder why I paid a fee to have the package delivered to my home when I have to waste gas in my car and time I could be being paid to be at work in order to pick up this package.
I understand that the company may feel it acted in my best interest by affixing the signature request, but it's caused nothing but problems. I feel that, if I felt my order required special delivery instructions, I'm able to request that at the time I place the order on Amazon. This is definitely not a package that should have required a signature for delivery in the first place. Moral of the story: request that they specifically not require delivery signatures for your package if you aren't able to sign when UPS delivers.
UPDATE: Apparently, Adorama requires UPS to automatically return all packages after attempting to deliver three times. Normally UPS keeps them in a warehouse for five days so customers who work for living (!!!) are able to pick them up. Instead, they are automatically returned. When I called Adorama's "Customer Service" department about this last night, I was told to "f*** off" and "that's our policy, so if you have a problem, deal with it, lady". I've also received no response to my emails to them. And, since I don't exactly have an extra $100 during the holidays to replace a gift, I can't give my mother her Christmas gift this year (this printer). I'm heartbroken over this whole situation.
--2006-12-05Bargain Price with Excellent Quality Prints from on this printer came out sharper than the same prints I had done on a Sony machine at Kinkos. Also, this handy little printer has a print tray. I don't have to remove the photo paper.
I am completely pleased that this printer meets my needs and it didn't cost too much. However, the lcd doesn't have as great a resolution as I expected because the product description mentioned, "use the lcd to fine tune your images." Fortunately, I perform those functions on the computer instead. What I like about the lcd is that I can easily select the images I want to print.

Highly recommended for the budget conscious. --2006-11-16Canon 6000D capability I have found the Canon to be very slow in comparison to other printers. Also, the showing of its ink status
is very vague and does not show the actual level remaining. The pop up window viewer is so dark you can hardly see what you are viewing. Over all, I believe that the printer has been designed for family photos
rather than the professional graphics trade. Quality of the prints are very good and I do like the duplex
printing option, but here again, it is too slow to really get any use from it.
