A Near Perfect Album

A song by song review of Fight The Tide.
Everything About You: The song that dominated the radio waves, and for good reason.
The Fight Song: This is the worst song on the whole album, but it's still a great song
Alone: A song that gives a nice reminder.
Things Like You: A nicely crafted song.
Closer: A nice tune.
Change Me: A important duel message song.
The Show: 2nd best song on the album.
Message: A great mission statement.
Deeds: A good lesson lots of us forget.
You Can't Hide: Another great reminder.
Where Will They Go: A nice song.
Say Goodbye: A very underrated song.
Everything About You [Alternate Version:This is better then the regular version.
Overall a great album. It is rare today to find great lyrics and a great beat on the same cd.
Wonderful

I'm not a very religious person, but when somebody recommended this CD to me, and after I listened to the full songs from their official website, I immediately went out and bought it. I'm still not too religious, but it doesn't stop me from loving this band and their songs because Sanctus Real is different from other Christian bands. This passage from their website bio about has the gist of it: "Some songs, like 'Message' and 'Deeds,' make direct biblical and religious references. Others aren't quite so obvious, and the band members disciplined themselves to avoid turning familiar spiritual metaphors into clichés. Instead, they came up with original ways of expressing their ideas."
In other words, sure, the songs send important messages to Christians, but the beautiful lyrics that speak of love and making up after a fight can be related to our relationships with other people, not just with God. The songs are great and I listen to them all the time; I'll never get sick of Sanctus. :) And I'm excited to be receiving "Say It Loud", their first CD, as well!
Another awesome album from Sanctus Real!

'Fight The Tide' is an amazing album with an amazing message! The lyrics of all these songs show Sanctus Real's real love for God; they truly live up to their name, Sanctus Real! The amount of time, effort, and prayer they put into making this album is very evident! Definitely a CD worth getting!

THis cd is a great rock cd, with a great message. I listen to the cd all the time and love it. I got mine all scratched so i have to buy a new one cuz i liked it so much. Song "closer" is good as well as "change me". Good mix of rockin songs and some slower ones , but all a good message.. Definetly a good cd to get.
Sanctus Real - Fight the Tide

I have been deeply into Christian Rock since 1998, and I have never seen a band on their first CD captivate listeners like Sanctus Real. To come off with their frist CD with so many hits is amazing and the second CD has even more. The coolest part about it is that each song is unique in lyrics and music, but some share almost identical qualities in they way it is written. Coming from a fellow musician, that is hard to do and to sound extraordinary. "Fight the Tide" uses many musical techniques that are unused by artists today to give Sanctus Real an equality or even edge to those Christian Rock Legends such as Audio Adrenaline or Toby Mac (DC Talk). They have entered into the Christian Rock scene so powerfully and this CD raises the bar to a new level. Their songs on both CDs have made such an impact on me, doing the concert-style music at my senior Christian service reception, I played songs from both CDs including "Everything, Alone, Say it Loud, Won't Walk Away, Sink or Swim," and the U2 cover "Beautiful Day." I look up to these guys and their music. "Fight the Tide" is full of great music and a great message as is "Say it Loud." I suggest you pick up both of these great CDs by this thriving band.
