    Customer Reviews:
  • Good home station
I bought this station a couple of weeks ago. It has been working fine and giving me accurate forecasts so far.
A down aspect is that the thermo-humidity remote cannot be mounted anywhere because it is not weatherproof (this can be a bit inconvenient sometimes) so i had to find a shady spot where no direct sun light and rain could affect it.
The wireless sensor connected immediately to my station. However, the atomic clock syn took way more than the 10 minutes that are specified in the manual. It took about 12 hours.
Customer service at Oregon Scientific hasn't answered yet to my question about the atomic clock (2 weeks?). I am glad that the station works fine!

  • Great product for the money.
After reading the other reviews here I decided to buy this product. I thought I would be getting a cheap product that hopefully performed to a respectable level. Well, I was surprised when I received the product a few weeks ago. The quality is above my expectations, as it worked right out of the box. I recommend reading the little manual that comes with the product, as it does give some explanations as to the graphics on the display.

After putting the batteries in, the device synced right up to the atomic clock informing me that I had strong signal strength (I live in Southern NJ outside of Philadelphia.) Having the time correct, I began to check out the remote unit. I agree with other reviewers, opening the remote unit is a real pain. You need a really small screwdriver, as the screws are recessed in the unit. The design could have been better, but once you manage to get the batteries, I have had no issues with the remote unit. I placed the remote unit outside on the front porch (where it won't get wet or take in too much sun.) It just works, I have had no problems with base to remote communications and the temperature seems to be accurate (I keep the base unit in the kitchen on the opposite side of the house.)

It's a nice toy to have, no more of those wires hanging outside your windows. The base can be mounted on the wall, or left on a table top (it comes with a snap on attachment used for table top use.)

Overall decent product, that's fun to use (well as fun as you can make the weather.) The little display with the current forecast is neat and for better accuracy I recommend programming in your locations height above sea level (easy to do, just read the little manual.) 4-5 stars, I don't think you can get something this cool for the price.

  • Pretty good deal.
I purchased this unit to track the weather indoors and out. It does this well, although I did have some reception issues at first, that was resolved by moving the receiver a few inches.
After I had this for a few months my wife wanted to be able to see what was the temperature in our baby's room. So without having to run any wires or buy a new main remote sensing thermometer, I purchased another remote sensor. With one in my son's room and the one that comes with this main unit, I've got all the information I wanted.
While this unit seems to have the most features for the price, there are a few "bugs" in the system. Getting the atomic clock to receive took a bit of effort, but it does eventually work in San Diego. The weather predictor's success has been mixed, but mostly acceptable. The appearance of the base unit is not inspiring. The range on the remote unit doesn't appear quite as far as stated.
That being said, it's operating reliably at 35' and through a wall, the price is great, and the expandability is nice. Weather prediction has over a 50% success rate, and it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb.

  • Has its problems, but still a good device
I have had this unit for a few weeks now and have had a pretty decent experience. The temp and humidity seem accurate enough for my own personal use and the weather prediction is accurate more than 75% of the time.
I did run into the same problem as one of the other users where it wouldn't take the information from the remote unit without it being right next to the base. I proceeded to change the remote and base unit to channel 2 and reset both devices (as I didn't feel like trying to figure out which one needed resetting) and it work immediately.
For the price, this is well worth it.

  • all in one weather clock
Very easy to set up. Had a little trouble finding a good spot that would pick up the radio signal. Now works very good. Arrived within a week after I ordered it. I can always count on you doing it right.
