Best receiving blankets out there!
2006-02-03
I have 3 different brands of receiving blankets and like most items, the Carter's brand is the best. They shrink a little after the first wash, but are still large enough for swaddling. These are great to have around for a light blanket or as an impromtu changing pad on the road. I highly recommend the Carter's brand over any other!
Favorite receiving blankets yet

I have many different brands of receiving blankets and these are by far the most favorite. The quality, size and look is much nicer than many other brands. My daughter is 6 months old now and we still use them.
Nice Blankets, Concerned about the Quality

I received these blankets at my baby shower, and promptly put them all through the washing machine in preparation for the birth of my baby. While three of them came out all right, one of them almost completely fell apart! One whole side unraveled, leaving lots of loose threads. The blanket is completely unusable! That being said, the remaining three blankets are cute and soft and look like they will be perfect for swaddling.
Great for swaddling

I live near Houston, so it is hot and humid for a good portion of the year. These blankets are just right for using in his car seat to cover him without getting too hot, and were great when we swaddled him when he was a newborn. They are very soft and look like new even after many washes! I would suggest buy a lot, because you can never have enough of these!
Big beautiful blankies

These are my absolute favorite receiving blankets. They are very soft and stay that way even after many washes. They are large enough to swaddle my 11+ pound one month old with room to spare. They are also big enough for me to lay one end under my baby's head as she nurses and still have enough left to wrap around her body - like having a burp cloth and blanket in one. I've even used these as impromptu coverups for nursing in public. Even after much use and many washings these blankets still look and feel as good as new. At less than $4 per blanket it's worth getting enough to keep a supply both at home and in the diaper bag for travel.
