  • Founded in 1756, Austria's Riedel Crystal is the world's premier manufacturer of wine glasses and has always catered to the fine wine connoisseur. However, these wine tumblers are part of the company's first attempt at producing a lower priced wine glass for casual entertaining. Like Riedel's prestigious Vinum series of glasses, these tumblers are specifically designed for a particular grape varietal and still maintain their ability to enhance the flavors and aromas of the wines they were intended for. The only difference is that the tumblers are missing their stems, making them slightly less delicate to handle, more modern in appearance, and easier to fit in smaller cabinets, mini bars, picnic baskets, and the dishwasher.

The O series of glasses are made of machine-made of non-leaded glass. The shape of the two glasses in this set is specifically recommended for young, full-bodied red wines with high tannin and extract, such as Cabernet or Merlot. Each glass holds 21-1/8 ounces of wine, stands 4-7/8 inches tall, and is completely dishwasher-safe. --Cristina Vaamonde

The Riedel Stemless O Wine Glasses are the newest revolution in glassware. Casual yet elegant these wine glasses are appropriate for fine wine enjoyment as well as casual sipping. The wine tumblers were shaped to fit into a dishwasher and fine-tuned to enhance the pleasure of your favorite wine varietals. In keeping with the Riedel glassware tradition these wine glasses have become the benchmark for stemless glassware. Made in Germany of lead-free crystal. Gift boxed in sets of 2. 4 7/8'H 21 1/8 oz.

    Customer Reviews:
  • super breakable!
were great until they broke in the sink while washing... too fragile for everyday use.

  • Wine Tastes Better!
Swirl your cab in these glasses, and it smells fantastic. While other reviewers have rightly given accolades to the functionality and beauty of the design, most important is that these tumblers truly make for a better taste and bouquet. We were first introduced to "O" at a tasting at Miner Vineyard in Napa, and have been fans ever since.

  • Lovely and delicate even without the stem!
I love these. Like a reviewer below, my husband has broken our wine glasses. 5 stems off a set of 8! I gave up and ordered these :-) They are wonderful. delicate and pretty but as foolproof as a wineglass can get. They *are* thin but they are a joy to use and suit our more casual home perfectly. I enjoy serving our friends with these while we watch old movies!

  • Great glass and surprisingly affordable
I bought these as a gift for my husband who had smashed 3 of 4 stemmed glasses. He was a little skeptical but has come to love them. We have 3 children ages 7 and under and it's always a challenge keeping stemware out of their way. These glasses solves the tipping problem. The shape is great and although we handwash them so far, it's nice to know you can put them in the dishwasher.

  • Love it, love it, love it!
I bought my first 2 last year and now have 8 each of the merlot, pinot and sauv blanc - plus the decanter. They're easy to grip (though the pinot could give you a cramp if you hold it too long, its so wide), stable and great for the dishwasher. Even better - and I didn't appreciate this until last night - they're sturdy. My husband dropped one on the tile floor and instead of shattering, it somehow managed to bounce!
