Kids love this
2006-01-31
This game offers competitive and non-competive componants, is active, visually pleasing, and does a good job of exibiting many Disney characters. These games teaches several games along with a wide variety of learning strategies. This is also very calming for adults to play with their children (or alone sometimes).
Pretty dull

This game is of little interest to my six-year old, who has other Disney software that he loves. While there is some animation in the tiles themselves, there's not much else going on. The backgrounds are basically blank, and after you've played for twenty minutes or so, you've pretty much seen all it has to offer.
Figment

The game itself is fun, but it suffers from a HUGH problem that no software should in this day and age. It does not play inside of a window, but insted takes the whole screen. That's dumb. It means that's it's difficult to be doing anything else while playing this game. I expect better from a major company.
DISNEY MAHJONG IS NOT MAHJONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am extremely frustrated and mad by the fact that a reputable company like Buena Vista Interactive (representing Disney) is unable to create a REAL 4 PLAYER mahjong game (the one which actual Chinese people play), instead releasing some stupid tile matching game erroneously called "MAHJONGG" in huge letters.
This is so ignorant and unconscientious of the computer programmers. There are already 100's and 100's of stupid tile matching solitaire games in existence with the incorrect name, all bragging about tile layouts, music and different backgrounds. Because of that, many young people today don't know what REAL mahjong is, thinking it's that unintelligent tile matching game.
Buena Vista Interactive could've produced a REAL mahjong game. If they incorporated Disney characters in it, it would give children a sense of interaction with the characters and would be quite fun. In Japan, Nintendo released "Yakuman DS" which is a REAL Japanese 4 player game featuring the popular characters Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach etc. Why can't BVI do something similar???
Some of you solitaire people might find this game fun. But let me tell you this. Let's say you love playing REAL chess. But you go on the internet and you see 100's of computer/online games called "chess" where you match up 2 similar chess pieces, queen and queen, pawn and pawn etc.
And when you tell your Asian/Western friends you like playing chess, they ALWAYS ALWAYS say, "Chess? Oh isn't that the matching game where you click on the chess pieces that are the same?"
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL? Wouldn't you fell annoyed or frustrated, having to clarify the confusion with them about REAL chess and chess "solitaire"??? Wouldn't you feel really upset that the intelligent game you play is now bastardized into some matching game erroneously called "CHESS"?????????
And they might not even bother learning to play the REAL chess because they think the "chess" game on the computer is so "fun".
Talk about being brainwashed...sorry.
Fun Mahjongg version
