I bought this item because our son kept on getting his legs and arms stuck. This item was made for a portable/small crib, not your typical crib. I had to go out and spend another $40. on velcro so I can make it long/wide enough to fit my son's crib. It is not worth the aggravation in altering it to fit the crib. Don't waste your money on something that is not going to work.

This did not fit my type crib. I wish that it stated that it only fits straight edge cribs only and does not fit sleigh type cribs.

I bought this on recommendation from a family member. It's great! My first child, who at the time was actively rolling over, had developed the habit of getting her legs stuck between the slats of the crib and would wake up hollering in the middle of the night because she could no longer move. Once we had purchased this product and had installed it, we were thrilled to see that her getting stuck was no longer a problem! Plus, the padding over the top rail was great for when she started pulling herself up - the padding was comfy so if she banged her head she didn't get hurt.

<br />Installation was easy and I like the fact that each individual side can be attached separately. Our crib has solid ends, so we just attached the open side that faced out. It was perfect!

<br />I've bought this now for two other friends who have newborns/are expecting. I find that it's a great gift to give the mom-to-be because of the potential hazards of traditional crib bumpers. Plus, it's just super useful!

This crib shield does what it claims -- the mesh is great for keeping my infant from getting her little legs stuck through the crib rails. However, the mesh on the head and foot of the crib is only attached from the sides, not the top. This means that my daughter can easily tug on the mesh and get the head and foot pieces to slide down. I am concerned that she might be able to get her head or arm stuck on the top of these pieces of the crib shield. Great in theory but it still could use some improvement.

My 8 month old daughter figured out how to stick her legs all the way through the crib rails, but couldn't figure out how to get them unstuck and back into the crib. She was a great sleeper until this phase, so the crib shield system REALLY helped. It's breathable and she can still see through it, so I didn't feel like I was putting her in a cave, and she never even objected to it.

<br />I gave it 4 stars because just like in some of the other reviews, she just recently (at 11 months) tore down one of the sides, so if it could attach a little more securely that would be helpful. But that should not deter you if you have a younger child. By now she could probably get her legs back out if she got them through the slats anyway.
