Well, it is red?!

What is so wrong with the marketing department of The Wiggles? (a gift from relatives) This piece of junk is red and has decals, but it HURTS my toddler each time he climbs into this Little Tikes CONTRAPTION! He gets bruises all over from it and then cries when it does not move around well. He also gets upset how it looks NOTHING like The Big Red Car. With NO SONGS! The horn is outright USELESS! I have seen some horrible toys, this one is down in the gutter with the worst! By the way, we LOVE the Wiggles and are interested in the other Little Tikes: The Wiggles 4x4 Battery Operated Big Red Car that came out in 2004 but, seems to be sold out everywhere! & that one ALSO looks nothing like the BRC! (I ended up removing the decals and put them on a smaller red 4x4 Jeep Wrangler Ride-On scoot-along toy that DOES make at least SOME noises!
Not for younger children!

The box said it was for 1.5 - 5 years old, not so! There is no door so smaller kids will have trouble getting in and out. There is also no floor plate so they WILL slide down the hole! I got this for my 19 months old dd who is the biggest Wiggles fan. She is in the tall side, similar to a 2 year old. She sometimes could get in by herself if I hold on to the car so it does not move. She still can't get out and was once slid down the hole and got stuck! That was when I had her test run in the house while I was cooking and that was it! I had to put it away! Another thing is that, the only "gasget" is a horn. I would say a clicking key would be a nice addition. It is cool looking though especially with the decals and seems really rugged. I wish I got the other one that can convert from parent power (floor plate with handle) to foot power (floor removed). I have to wait until next year, may be, until I let her play with it again.. :(
Not for short children

My son is one and loves being pushed around in this car. He would definitely fall through the bottom if we didn't hold his shirt while we pushed him, so it *should* have a seatbelt. It will be several months before he's tall enough to move this on his own, but that's ok.
Please do not buy this toy for a little one and expect them to be able to maneuver without assistance. In addition to the age range, I think this toy should have a minimum height requirement. A short 2 year old's legs might still be too small to reach the floor.
Also, the hole in back is the gas tank for the Little Tykes gas pump, not a spot for a pole to push the car. This is not a push-style ride-on toy.
Appropriate for toy at appropriate age!!!!

I'm amazed at parents saying they bought this toy for a 1st Birthday!!! That is completely dangerous..I agree. This toy is not recommended for a child that young. It is for 2 and up so for all you folks disappointed put it away and give it to them at the appropriate and SAFE time. Even 16mo is probably too young and yes it does not surprise me in the least that they would fall through the hole. They put age recommendations on toys for a REASON.
My 2.5yr old LOVES this car and will not play with anything else. He is a very tall boy at 95% in height and weight and fits very comfortably. I was looking for a good size car that he could use for a few yrs and did not want to get those big motorized cars. This was perfect. We tried the Cozy Coupe with the hard top but saw too many kids climbing on top and tipping it over. We tried the one with the soft convertible top but found the entrance more narrow and my son a more difficult time getting in/out/ This one he would hop in/out w/ no problems and had lats of leg room.
DANGEROUS!!!

My son received this for his 1st birthday and we had it stored until now (he is 16 months). Now it will be stored permanently IN THE TRASH! There is no floor plate, which means that a child needs to keep his/her feet up...OK...but what if they put their feet down? Well, they propell forward and smash their face or slide backward and get stuck between the steering wheel and the rough edges of the seat. My son is now nursing a back abrasion and welts on his belly because he got stuck - it took my husband and me to get the thing off him while he screamed. This is overpriced and dangerous. I hope that this review can save one parent the misery of seeing their child in pain from being hurt on the Big Red Car.
