This isn't hip hop music

I don't understand why reggaeton artists think their music is profound and true hip hop. Reggaeton music is not a culture. Reggae and true dancehall music is a culture and those artist make music for everyone to listen to. If artists like Tego Calderon and Daddy Yankee want to put out music for everyone to hear. At least put out material in english y'all. Also, I've been labled a "Reggaeton Hater" just because I'm voicing my opinion on the genre of music. All I got to say to those people is, you guys don't know what the hell you're talking about.
tego knows he can bring it!

Just got this CD (purchased from amazon.com of course). I got it primarily because I fell madly in love with the remix of Al Natural feat. Yandel (I find myself liking just about anything Wisin Y Yandel are featured on, interesting). The remix of Guasa Guasa feat. Julio Voltio blows it up. It's really fun. Basically, the quality of the tracks range from really good to fantastic. I think you'll appreciate the musical diversity that the many guest musicians and producers bring to Tego's music. Another great one to plant in the car or the ipod!

The most underated artist in the genre--the black horse of the movement. But behind the scenes everyone knows who the godfather is--a REAL hip hop artist making great music. With all the real Puerto Rican flava and some lyrics that you wouldn't understand unless you lived on the island. 100 % Criollo ---el Abayarde reminds us of what being Boricua means--It won't be easy for him to crossvoer like DY, and most people outside of PR may not understand what the hell he's talking about. But he is reaching the people he is targeting. Not for everyone but true boricuas will enjoy it.
Good Album, but not better than El Abayarde

Great album..but as someone else said they are many remixes from old songs and they dont make the song better..the album is still good, Tego always bring heat!!

Withouth having heard his previous album, "EL Abayarde", I bought this CD. I have been listening to it for 2 weeks now, and I would not recommend it for somebody just getting into reggaeton. There are better choices (like Luny Tunes's "La Trayectoria").
The only songs I can listen to, from top to bottom, are tracks 2,3,6,7, and 14. The rest, even trying to listen to them all the way through, I cannot stand them. They get very repetitive and boring, pretty soon.
His voice, in the beginning, sounded to me kind of bothersome. Little by little I began to dig into his singing and voice. Definitely, Tego does not sound like most of the reggaeton singers, who basically do not sing at all, or sing out of tune. For my money, he is the one I like the best in the sense of voice texture and rhythms/beats. (My other favorites, at this time, are Daddy Yankee, and Héctor & Tito, who, if I am not mistaken are breking up their partnership.)
A lot of dirty words (in Spanish, of course!) are used throughout the album. But, most of reggaeton's songs do the same, so be aware of that, in case it may offend you.
In case you understand Spanish, there are many rhymes which are pretty funny, interesting and contagious, specially on the favorite tracks I mentioned before.
Enjoy
