  • No reason to complain. 2005-10-04 First, I have the UK version of this. Yes, it has a few extra songs. But I've seen a lot of complaints here about the music choices. People are asking "why didn't they include stuff from the earlier seasons?"

The reason they didn't and instead focused on the last 2 seasons is that there was already a Buffy Soundtrack released several years ago. It had all the older stuff. It had Rasputina, K's Choice, Cibo Matto, and a lot of other things. It was released in 98 or so and you can look it up on amazon. It's really good, I have it, too.
I would spend the extra and get the UK version 2005-08-05 This one is OK, but the UK version has many many more tracks. 22 I think. Either one is a great buy for a Buffy fan though!
Not the strongest representative but not bad either. 2005-08-03 I was about to give this album 3 stars when i realised, this soundtrack isn't so bad after all.

Sure the U.K version is better but this album still shows the kind of music buffy had. Yes, a lot of it is grungy but in a magic realism show that's to be expected; there was quite a bit of grunge music throughout the series.

The gem on this album (which the U.K. "Sunnydale Radio" doesn't have) is Sarah Mclachlan's song. No it's not the beautiful "full of grace," that plays at the end of season two as Buffy leaves her hometown bound for L.A. "Prayer for St. Francis" (an equally beautiful track I think) plays at the season 6 finale, just after Buffy and sister Dawn crawl from the grave where they had been fighting dirt demons.
It's good this track was selected over "full of grace" because it comes from a rare c.d. while "full of grace" can be found on Mclachlan's arguably best album (which also has "angel" and "do what you have to do" on it), "Surfacing."

At first when I heard there were two versions of this soundtrack (one which paled in comparison to the other) I thought, 'that sucks for the U.S I hope we get the U.K version here.' Happily we did but I also bought this album off the net and I'm pretty happy with it.

If you're choosing between the two go with the U.K version, but if you're a whacked out fan like me buy em both:D
Why this Sarah McLaughlin song??? 2005-08-02 Ok, so ever since I bought the first album, I have been praying that the wonderful song that ended Season 2 would be on it. I think that "Full of Grace" was a great song choice for the end of an amazing season. Well, that's not the song. Its a great song that is on here, and I think the whole album represents somewhat the greatness of the show, but frankly the first one was way better.
Now, had the British one had Sarah McLaughlin on it, well it would have made an amazing cd even better.
The peace prayer is great 2005-03-31 I bought this CD just for The Peace Prayer by Sarah Mclaughlin. It is fantastic, but the rest is just trash. I would say down load that song on you I-Pod or MP3 and leave the rest alone.
