  • Typical China quality 2005-10-21 As received, the handle was broken and there were several chips of paint peeling off. Sisco (the manufacture of the safe) sent a replacement handle. Installation was simply. The safe is ok, but the quality shows sign of being made in China.
Safer Safe 2005-09-15 I had purchased another brand of wall safe for a previous home. The Brinks is clearly a higher quality and more secure safe than the one I installed in my previous home and was priced about the same. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that the batteries are located inside the safe - there is a way to open the safe if the batteries go dead but it requires a key.
I'm Very Pleased 2005-08-01 This Brink's 5070 Digital Electronic Anti-Theft Wall Safe is a replacement for a safe that was actually broken into in my home. With just a hammer (not even a sledge hammer, at that) and a big screwdriver, my old safe was hammered into, the lock broken and the contents stolen. The old safe had a 3 number rotary combination which needed careful dialing plus a key to get into it. It was a project just to gain access. This new Brinks safe is terrific. The combination is user-selected and entered, and the safe has an "over-ride" key just in case the combination is forgotten. It's also made of much heavier steel than my old one, and is almost twice the size. I did have to enlarge the opening in the sheetrock, but it fit nicely between 16" oc 2 by 4 framing. I"m extremely happy with this product.
Very rough opening mechanism 2005-04-25 You'll need to be pretty strong to open and close the locking mechanism. Poor design in my opinion.

Also, not as roomy as I had hoped.
poor quality, terrible customer service 2004-07-11 Very rough operation of lock mechanism. Bottom shelf is almost unusable because of the position of locking mechanism. I attempted to contact the customer service dept. listed on the enclosed warranty sheet. The 1-800-number listed on the warranty
sheet referred me to a 10-10- number, which was a directory who
gave me the no. of Sisco. I received my phone bill today and found the directory charged me $5.98 to give me the Brinks customer service no. So what do you think of a manufacturer who

gives you a phony 800 no. which refers you to an outfit which charges you $5.98 to give you their phone no.? This, along with a poorly designed, poor quality product. I will never buy anything
from Brinks again. I don't think too much of Amazon for dealing with Brinks. BTW I sent an e-mail to their customer service dept.
Of course I have never received an answer.
