  • The 12-in. Everyday Pan is an all-purpose pan. Use it for searing, browning and sauteing vegetables and meats. It also works well for making paella, jambalaya and all-in-one meals that you can bring right to the table to serve. The 2 loop handles make for easier lifting.Backed by a lifetime warranty, Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized Cookware is made to professional standards, offering the home chef unsurpassed cooking performance, superior construction and lasting durability. Each piece in the Commercial Hard-Anodized line is made of a heavy-gauge aluminum, all-metal construction with the advanced technology of the Cool V stainless handles. The aluminum construction provides superior cooking performance by distributing the heat evenly so there are no hot spots as you cook. And because it's made entirely of metal, each pan can be used in the oven and under the broiler. The hard-anodizing seals the cooking surface, making it stick-resistant and non-reactive to the foods being cooked. The Cool V handles are designed to stay cool on the stovetop, and are balanced with such precision that the pans feel lighter when you pick them up.
This 12-inch everyday pan will end up being the hardest working pan in your kitchen. It is ideal for everything from simmering stovetop succotash and braising brisket to browning Dutch pancakes or cooking fruit tarts. Part of Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized line of cookware, this pan is made of heavy-gauge aluminum that's uniformly thick across the bottom and sides, allowing for quick and even heat distribution. Its durable hard-anodized finish is stick- and scratch-resistant and won't react with acidic foods. The patented cast stainless-steel handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by three sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The included hard-anodized lid is dome-shaped, making it ideal for moist-heat cooking. The cookware and lid are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you can transfer a frittata to the oven for browning without having to switch pans. All cookware in this line is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

    Customer Reviews:
  • Great for searing meats and deglazing
This pan is my absolute favorite for browning meats and cooking some chicken for a wonderful sauce.

Cook the chicken, throw in some mushrooms and chives and deglaze the pan with white wine. Yummy.

It has cleaned up easy for me, but I would not dream of cooking eggs in it. Use it for what its intended for and you will be happy.

  • Cheap Calphalon, worth about $25, KEEP YOUR WARRANTY HANDY ON THIS ONE!
I just bought this on sale from amazon and I already own a non-stick pot, and 11-inch nonstick pan from Caphalon.

These two calphalon pans I already own are like night to day to the one I recieved today.. The handles on this pan ARE SO CHEAP!!! They remind me of something I would see at Wal-mart. They are way thinner than the quality of Calphalon, and a rough metal that isn't stainless steel...

My other pans have thick handles with shiny stainless steel that you can really grip, and I have small hands anyways, but this pan is sturdy just not Calphalon quality...

The MSRP of 168 is misleading and completely off.. I think $30 is the most the pan should cost, if that....

I will keep it because I threw out my other nonstick because the coating disintegrated when hubby fried in it.. But I definitely even think the picture isn't what I recieved, the quality in the pic isn't what I got...

Buyer Beware! And if you buy it, FIND A SAFE PLACE FOR YOUR LIFETIME WARRANTY, YOU'RE GONNA NEED IT!!!

  • My very favorite Calphalon pan
I bought this pan a few years ago and found it to be the most versatile of all my Calphalon pans. On top of the stove, or in the oven it gets used quite a bit in our house. The size is just perfect for the dishes I tend to cook and of course it has the famous heat conductivity hard-anodized aluminum cookware is famous for. On top of all that, it's a good looking pan, one that you could easily put right on the table to serve directly out of if you wanted to.

I love this pan so much I gave them as Christmas gifts the past two years, and everyone that I gave one to loves it as much as I do. They use theirs all the time to.

You can't go wrong getting this, especially at this price.

  • use and clean per directions
I have the 15 piece set (retails around $1,500.00) and I Love it... I also have a full set of Le Creuset and use the Calphalon Commercial as my everyday (I do cook every day). When cooking anything in this cookware you always need to use oil or butter to start, doesn't matter what you're cooking. Also, when you clean you can only use Comet or Ajax and a Scotch Brite pad and of course dishwashing detergent. If you use anything else you will ruin the finish (do not use Bar Keepers Friend on this cookware). Don't put in dishwasher and do not emerse in water while cookware is hot- you need to let it cool down completely. All of this information is in the directions for use and is suggested to read. It will last a lifetime if you follow the directions and you will not loose the warranty. Enjoy!!!

  • Awesome pan when used for intended purpose
I just ordered another one of these pans today. I purchased one a year ago and it is my favorite and most used pan. It works great for browning hamburger, then adding taco seasoning or spaghetti sauce and letting simmer. It is not nonstick, nor does the manufacturer claim it is. I have read many reviews slamming this pan because foods like eggs stick (I have a calphalon contemporary nonstick that works great for eggs). I find that it is relatively easy to clean if I let it soak for a few minutes before washing. The pan does show markings of coloration or scratches, but they in no way affect the performance of the pan.
