  • Sony MDR-G57G Street Style(R) S2 Sports Headphones - These headphones take the headband off your head and move it to rest comfortably behind your neck. Though developed for use with all Sony Walkman(R) personal stereo players, they'll deliver top-quality sound from virtually any brand of portable stereo. They're also a good choice for use with an iPod or portable MP3 player, especially on the street. Because these headphones don't fully insulate you from street sounds, they're safer for use in crowded urban areas where certain sounds are alerts to help guarantee your safety. With a secure, non-slip fit, these headphones are ideal for a variety of outdoor (and indoor) sports activities. Superb sound, stressless comfort, outstanding mobility, exceptional freedom - that's the philosophy behind these Street Style(R) S2 Sports Headphones. It makes sense. Reflective earpiece is perfect when jogging at night Water-resistant ? stands up to rain, sweat and occasional splashing 5' single-sided OFC cord with L-shaped stereo mini plug Frequency response - 16Hz - 20kHz Sensitivity - 104dB Impedance - 24 ohms Power-handling capacity - 1000mW Replacement ear pads included
These Street Style headphones employ the comfortable and stable behind-the-neck design. They have a non-slip design, making them ideal for exercise or for a walk to the corner market. To encourage safe night-time activities, the MDR-G57Gs come with a reflective ear piece. They are also water-resistant, completing the necessary checklist for full-function sports headphones. The behind-the-neck style is also appropriate for urban and casual wear; remember that with this style you can wear a hat while wearing the headphones. The MDR-G57Gs were designed for extended wear, and, weighing in at under two ounces, you may indeed forget you are wearing headphones.

Sony has installed several technical features to the headphones to ensure a quality listening experience. The thirty millimeter drive units are large for portable headphones, and deliver deep bass, low distortion and a wide frequency response range (16 - 20,000 Hz). Sony's Acoustic Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizying sound chamber and duct technology. Ferrite magnets give the headphones solid energy at a minimal size and weight, while the oxygen-free copper cord provides high conductivity and minimum noise. The gold-plated stereo mini-plug makes sure that sound is transported fully and accurately. The gold-plated treatment also helps resist corrosion and supports the headphones' high conductivity and low noise. The five foot long, single-sided cord is plenty long for active pursuits. Replacement earpads are included.

  • Painful; don't buy for home use
I bought these phones for home use

These headphones have a decent sound; the sound is equal to most headphones I have used.
However, don't buy these headphones if you intend on buying this for home use because probably in less then 15 minutes, yours ears and lower neck begin to ache.

  • Great for Running!
Ive been looking for a set that stays in my ears while running on a treadmill.. This is the set for running.. the only con about this product is that the volume is not as high as other headsets.. but i like my music loud so it could be just me.

  • Great for running...
I love listening to music while either running on the treadmill or on the streets. While these headphones are not going to be known for an amazing bass sound quality, they get the job done for a workout. They are comfy, light, and stay fitted during my runs all while providing decent sound quality. I even use them during 5, 8, and 10k event runs. Since I don't like the way ear bugs feel in my ear, these are a great fit for me!

  • Product has improved
I purchased these head phones about 3 months ago and I would agree with all the reviews. You can't listen to the head phones for more than 30 mins with out pain in the back of your ears.

My cats recently got a hold of them and I pruchased a new set yesterday. The backing is now soft rubber as opposed to hard plastic. I have had no discomfort using them as of yet. Looks like the only thing worng with this product has been fixed.

Before puchasing I would make sure you are getting the soft rubber and not hard plastic ear clips.

  • They hurt your ears after prolonged wear
These earphones are ok. I have a real problem with the earbud earphones falling out of my ears so i had to go with a set of these that clip on. I wear them while working out and they stay on. But after about 1/2 an hour, they do start to hurt your ears. I'm not sure what exactly causes the pain. I just know that about 1/2 hour into my workout, i have to take them off and rest my ears.
