  • Rebirth Of Cam'ron's Career. 2005-11-30 After two solid CDs under Untertainment, Cam'ron kinda fell off the radar. Him linking up with Roc-A-Fella reminded everyone and this CD really seemed like he was restarting. His flow style changed a bit but all in all, it's still the same laid back Cam'ron flow. The songs:

    1) Intro feat. Kay Slay - It's an average production. Cam'ron and DJ Kay Slay talk for the first minute, making you wait for the song. Would be better if not for all the talking. Cam'ron's great lyrically on this song but it doesn't seem to match the beat.

    2) Losing Weight Part 2. feat. Juelz Santana - Great opener. Again, Cam'ron and Juelz talk for a little too long which makes you wait for the song. The beat plays well with both Cam'ron and Juelz Santana's flows and they're great lyrically. Very good song. Very catchy tune as well.

    3) Oh Boy feat. Juelz Santana - The most commerically successfull song on the album. Not a bad song but it really put him back on the map. Just Blaze is at his best with this production. Good song.

    4) Live My Life (Leave Me Alone) feat. Daz Dillinger - Cam'ron just does a song to Tupac's "Ambitions As A Rida". Cam'ron actually works well with the beat. Also is pretty good lyrically. Very solid song.

    5) Daydreaming feat. Tiffany - Takes about 40 seconds for Cam'ron to start rapping on this song. It takes a few listens but the beat will become catchy if you listen to it enough. Love song pretty much. Not a bad song but not the best. I'd say it's solid.

    6) Come Home With Me feat. Juelz Santana & Jim Jones - Very good production by Just Blaze here. Great song. Talking about the hardships of their lifes but I think Jim Jones isn't quite there lyrically. I see potential but Cam'ron and Juelz are lightyears ahead of him. Jim Jones seems out of place on some beats and this is one of them.

    7) Welcome To New York City feat. Jay-Z & Juelz Santana - Back when Jay-Z & Cam'ron got along. Just Blaze again put out a spectacular production. Great song with Santana on the chorus. Jay-Z does well in the song and he and Cam'ron actually work well together. It's basically talking about New York City (as you can see by the title). Very good song. Probably the best on the CD.

    8) Hey Ma feat. Juelz Santana, Feekey Zekey, & Kay Slay - Second most successfull song commercially on the CD. Good production and very mellow song. At this point you're wondering if this is Cam'ron's CD or a Cam'ron and Juelz Santana joint CD. Santana's been on alot of songs but that doesn't hurt the CD. Very good song.

    9) On Fire Tonight feat. Freeky Zekey - Ver yfunny song talking about STDs and basically "going up in a girl raw". It takes about a minute for the song going but Cam'ron actually flows well to the "You, Me, & He" beat by Mtume. Comical song, not much "gangsta" to this.

    10) Stop Calling feat. McGruff & Freekey Zekey - Again, about a one minute introduction. Takes a while for the song to get going. Great song here. Again, more of a comical song as far as lyrics go but still with the beat, it's an awesome song. The base is really heavy and Cam'ron goes well with the beat.

    11) I Just Wanna feat. Juelz Santana - probably the weakest song as far as production goes. Cam'ron and Santana work well together but I'm not feeling the beat.

    12) Dead Or Alive feat. Jim Jones - great Kanye West beat. Kanye West produces a great song where Cam'ron delivers. I didn't buy into the beat at first but a few listens and you can respect how well Cam'ron does on this song.

    13) The Roc (Just Fire) feat. Memphis Bleek & Beanie Siegel - A classic here. Great great song. All three do great. Memphis Bleek again shows so much potential, it's a shame he can't deliver on his OWN CDs. But either way, this song is very very good. Great beat, everyone's at the top of their game on their lyrics and all work together.

    14) Boy Boy - Mixtape classic. Good beat, good lyrics. Actually a song with NO guest apperances. But I've heard this song before this CD came out. Old song.

    15) Tomorrow - Takes a few listens to like it. But if you listen to it enough you'll like it. It's a look back on life basically. Not a bad song but not the best.

Cam'ron does great on his Roc-A-Fella debut. Come Home With Me is a solid CD but had too many guest appearances for my liking. I'd like to hear what Cam'ron can do as the main person instead of working with someone. I still recommend this CD as the Production is top notch though Cam'ron's not at his best lyrically.
His 3rd album is his last decent one - 3.5 stars 2005-09-30 I admit I liked Cam up until shortly after this release, now I think he is possibly the worst rapper ever (close with Chingy & St. Lunatics). His first 2 albums were pretty good and his Roc-A-Fella debut is also pretty good, after this all his trash might get 2.5 stars at the most! Of the 15 songs on here, 1 is a classic, 1 is almost a classic, 5 are good, 5 are ok and 3 I skip. Guests are on about half the songs rapping with Cam and a few others doing hooks. Production is pretty good on most songs. Ty Fyfee does 5 songs, Just Blaze does 4, Precision, Big Lee Ent., DR Period, Kanye West, Heatmakerz, and BPM all do 1 song. A good album for his fans to have.

#1 - 8 (long intro w/ Kay Slay before he starts rapping)
    #2 - 9 (f/ Juelz Santana -- nice beat)
    #3 - 7 (f/ Juelz Santana -- more of a song for the ladies)
    #4 - 8.5 (f/ Daz Dillinger -- nice 2Pac sample beat)
    #5 - 5 (f/ Tiffany)
    #6 - 8.5 (f/ Juelz Santana -- good beat)
    #7 -9.5 (f/ Jay-Z & Juelz Santana -- great beat)
#8 - 8.5 (f/ Juelz Santana -- another song for the ladies but it's pretty good)
    #9 - 7 (about a dirty h0)
    #10 - 7.5 (f/ McGruff)
    #11 - 6 (f/ Juelz Santana)
    #12 - 6.5 (f/ jim Jones)
    #13 - 10 (CLASSIC -- f/ Beanie Sigel & Memphis Bleeek -- great beat)
    #14 - 7.5
    #15 - 8

The Roc Hires a Killa ... 2005-09-19 Cam on the Roc definately spells hell for the industry.
The debut album is pretty good and I give it 3.75 stars.
I could easily round it off to 4 stars on any givin' day.
I think that a lot of people underestimate Cam but the boy
can make you say "OH Boy" at almost any givin' time.
Great Roc album for a Killa but look out for those Diplomats.
All together, a takeover is in place.

Only a few good songs 2005-09-15 Good album, but only a few songs I would bump real loud. I think Cam's best album is definitley SDE.
Home Sweet Home 2005-07-21 Cam'ron's debut with Roc-A-Fella seemed to up his game and Come Home With Me came close to a grand slam. As the talk and flow on "Intro" Cam has become more laid back and confident with himself. He gets right into the street talk of hustling and selling drugs with a sense of hopelessness on "Losing Weight, Pt. 2" featuring Juelz Santana. "Live My Life (Leave Me Alone)" with it's sample from 2pac's "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" was a clear display of a new fiercesome flow with ease. Harlem's own brought in Juelz Santana & Jim Jones to give us an unedited editorial on the title track. Killa invites us outsiders to where he's from on "Welcome To New York City" featuring Jay-Z & Juelz Santana over a Just Blaze track. "On Fire Tonight" is about why you should protect yourself in having sex with a quite funny interlude to go along with it. Killa shows his 'pimpory' on "Stop Calling" featuring McGruff as his retaliation on monogamy. The bad boy, wild West "Dead Or Alive" featuring Jim Jones was a good choice for Killa's style. The descriptive "I Just Wanna" featuring Juelz Santana gives details of career goals and other plans as well. I don'g know what got into him after signing to Roc-A-Fella, but Cam'ron has more personality with a signature flow. "...holla Boy Boy..."
