Four Years Old and still like brand new!
2005-10-12
My daughter received this doll house four years ago for Christmas. It is still in wonderful condition and she still plays with it often. She is seven years old now, so as you can imagine, this house went through alot....and it could still pass as new! I couldn't have spent that money any better!
Awesome Quality Toy

My husband and I bought this dollhouse for my daughter's 9th birthday and she absolutely loves it! We really researched these before spending the amount of money on it, but after reading many reviews on many different sites, and seeing about 98% positive feedback, we went ahead and ordered it. The quality of this product, compared to some that we've gotten my kids in the past is phenomenal. It's a sturdy wood, rather than cheap plastic. It's as tall as me (I'm 5'1" and it's just about 5" tall). It's fairly easy to assemble, and once assembled, has room for everything. We also ordered her the furniture package with this (at about $60 extra) but it was worth it. There is a ton of furniture, and the coolest thing is that most of the furniture does something. The sink actually can run water, the refridgerator actually dispenses water from the front like a normal day sink, the grandfather clock runs and works like a real one. It's just the coolest thing I've ever seen. I, myself, grew up with Barbies and had a Barbie house with an elevator (in the late 70's early 80's) and a Barbie RV, but this dollhouse and the furniture especially are the best I've seen yet. I'd recommend it to anyone. Now, remember, there, with anything, is usually a "lemon" or two, but for all the positives about this product, it's already paying off for my daughter!
Not as good as it seems

We bought this toy for our daughter a little over 1 year ago. My children are not the kind of children that are destructive to toys. In fact this Barbie house is the only broken toy in our house. Here is a list of the problems that we have had.
1. Both knobs are forever broken from the drawers
2. One drawer has a cracked front and the other has a craked back so the drawers don't hold anything. My daugher didn't do anything to cause the breakage
4. The floor pieces of the house are actually cardboard which warped rather quickly which causes alot of the furniture to fall- this as you can imagine causes frustration
5. Mostly my daughter uses the house as storage and when she wants to play she takes the things out of it
This is a really neat toy that has turned out to be a great disappointment and waste of space. I do not recommend this toy and am currently planning on building something simular but with good quality and sturdy materials that can last longer than 1 year.
BIG, WELL MADE, & MY KIDS LOVE IT
2004-12-29
This is big, well made and heavy. The packaging was perfect and even after being mailed to Japan it arrived in wonderful condition. The only two things I am not pleased with are the unfinished ceilings... I'll paint them myself since they are just plain brown waferboard. A coat of white paint or another pastel will help also to lighten up the rooms. Also, the Barbie front of the pitched roof has some blemishes. Otherwise, I'm very impressed with the quality and the size is very impressive. I didn't have any warpage or bowed wood and the drawers fit together nicely.
