Why did I waste money on a cutesy bumper?!?!?!
2006-06-05
This is wonderful. We have never used our bumper that came with our bedding set, I was just too nervous. Then one morning when I saw one of our girls with both of her legs hanging out of the crib, I had to find something. We bought this and have just loved it. You cannot really see through the bumper, but that has actually been a benefit for us. Our 6 month old twins seem to be sleeping better now that they don't have distractions that might keep them from going to sleep.
Excellent product, and I received it free!

What a great idea!

I tried putting a regular bumper on our crib, even though I you aren't supposed to. The problem was, she kept getting her arms and legs stuck between the crib slats and would cry, and was also hitting her head on the wood. So, I put up the regular bumper and within ten minutes, she had scooted in her half sleep to smash her face right up against it. So, I took it off and continued to suffer with her getting her arms and legs caught.
Then I saw this product and it works SO GREAT! She doesn't seem to even notice it and when she does scoot right near it, doesn't want to smash her face right into it. It keeps her legs and arms in great.

The one problem was that the long part that is supposed to cover three sides of the crib was too long for my standard sized crib. So, I went to Target and bought some permanent stick on velco strips to put on it so that I could velcro it on the crib. It works great.
Great idea

My 4.5 month-old daughter was continually kicking the bars of her crib while sleeping, getting very upset and waking up when one of her feet ended up outside. I don't trust the padded cloth bumper that came with our crib bedding set, due to the SIDS risk, so I had to find another option. This was what we found out there, and so far it does hold up to her kicking. No legs going through!

The only issue I have with it, is that we had to cut holes in it to make room for her aquarium toy and her mobile. When it's time for the mobile to be removed, we're going to have an ugly little hole in it. It won't effect it's utility in any way, but it's going to be ugly. Oh, well. I just wish they made an allowance for such common crib items somehow.

Overall, though...glad I got it. It does the trick.
Sleeping Through The Night!
2006-04-18
I bought this bumper for my daughter when she was 5 months old as she was waking several times throughout the night with an arm or a leg stuck in between the crib slats. I heard from many different sources that bumpers can restrict air flow & cause SIDS so I avoided them until I found this one. This is easy to attach to the crib and goes with any decor. What a difference! Now we all sleep through the night. (She is 9 months old now and we are still using it without difficulty.)
