A Step Above the Rest
2005-12-05
I have only used this blender once, but already I love it. I will update my review if anything changes. No more cheapo blenders for me! I have tried Oster (really bad), and Black and Decker from Walmart (a tad better, but it didn't work on frozen fruit and ice).
First, with the Waring, I made a frozen Island Oasis mix using ice, and the consistency was amazing.
Second, since I'm single, I absolutely love the small size (I think it's like 24 oz or so).
Third, it's not really that loud. I mean no louder than any other blender I've used.
Fourth, there are no cheap plastic parts! Yay! Only high quality parts. The jar is stainless steel. If the two top pieces are plastic or polycarbanate(?), they are of very high quality.
Fifth, the blades are built into the stainless steel container, and it's a snap to clean. Just add a cup of water, a few drops of cleaning liquid, run the blender for 30 seconds or so, rinse, dry and you're done! Cuts my cleaning time down considerably. Moreover, there's no unscrewing and cheap plastic round things that always tear. There is absolutely no way that you would have problems with a leaking jar.
Last, I didn't have any problems with a burning smell. I am sticking with Waring products. My mother has one (at least 32 years old), and it still works!
This blender makes great frozen margaritas
2005-10-22
I bought this blender to replace a $35 Oster that died. It was definitely worth the money. There is a huge difference in quality. It can make restaurant quality frozen margaritas in about 10 seconds. The pitcher is smaller than my old Oster which could be a problem if you want to make more than 2 drinks at a time. This is why I only gave it 4 stars. When shopping for this blender it bothered me that the blender only has 2 speeds but I found that it doesn't matter. I would recommend this blender.
No more broken blad assemblies!
2005-10-17
I received this blender three weeks ago. I was desperate to find a blender for which I wouldn't have to replace the blade assembly every three months and mop up a mess every time I used the blender (from things leaking out under the blender).
This blender fits the bill. It has no problem crushing the ice from bottled water we use. No more choking on chunks of ice in my protein smoothies.
It is no louder than the 10-speed Hamilton Beach that I bought six months ago (and replaced three blades in). It's a blender. It makes some noise, but at least this one works like it should.
the cannister is too small

Waring happily ever after!

I just purchased TWO quite white Waring PBB201 blenders.Since my cheap blender recently said it's goodbyes and gave up the ghost. And since I grew up on a Waring blender.I could'nt pass up the free shipping and the $25 discount on each blender Amazon was offering.
Anybody who thinks blenders are all the same have never tried a Waring.Anybody who thinks Waring are no good never got their hands on a good one.A good one will outlast just about everything else in your kitchen. From 1st grade to college and after!-We had like five new cars But only one blender the whole time.
The motor is just as I remembered growing up.
When you turn it on you get the distinct sound that you just turned on a table saw so you know this blender means business.
And that's what you should look for in any power tool,I mean appliance:
