This multipurpose tool created a stir in the kitchen when it came out, as the food processor did a generation earlier. In order to blend, whip, and chop smaller amounts of ingredients, it's no longer necessary to wrestle with bulky appliances. Immerse the 7-1/2-inch blender shaft, with its little blade on the end, into a pot where vegetables have been simmering, press the switch, and in seconds a creamy soup appears--with no need to dump everything into a big blender. Blend sauces and baby foods in their cooking pots, too. Blend a milk shake or juice drink right in its drinking container, or in the 2-1/2-cup beaker included in this set. Whipping cream and egg whites is just as convenient: a 5-inch whisk attaches to the motor when the blender is removed. For chopping nuts, herbs, garlic, or onions, there's a 2-cup chopper bowl with a special blade. The motor with the attached blender shaft can be mounted on a wall (mount included). Everything but the motor and the chopper-bowl top (both should be wiped with a damp cloth) can go into the dishwasher. This tool is more than handy, it's a revolution. Very useful
This is a very functional product from Braun and offers the conveniences of chopping, whisking and blending. It is designed to provide quick service considering the size it comes in and takes up very little place in the kitchen. It does what it is expected to do and nothing more and definitely worth the price.

Great for quick mixing, chopping, whipping and blending!
I had an earlier model of this mixer that I had to replace (not any fault of the mixer - I had a fire in my house) and ordered this hand blender. Braun improved this hand tool by having all tools detach from the motor handle - original design had a blender which would fit into other attachments. Everything but the handle can go into the dishwasher. I really like this for quick blending, chopping or mixing - especially when I make pea soup in my crockpot - I can mush up those peas and vegies in nothing flat! I did have a splatter accident when I lifted the blender out of the bowl one time, but if you are paying attention, you shouldn't have a problem. Great alternative to a large food processor or a two blade hand mixer.

Buyer Beware!
I purchased three of these blenders as gifts for friends but was then notified by the Amazon supplier that this product was DISCONTINUED and they were refunding my TOTAL order. Because of their e-mail notification, I purchased other gifts for my friends. Several days later, I received another e-mail from the supplier notifying me that apparently the item was not discontinued, and that only one of my blenders had been refunded but the others were still being delivered! After speaking to the supplier several times, the supplier refused to refund my money unless the gift recipients refused to accept the shipment.

If you would like a reliable supplier, consider purchasing from another website.

Only One Problem
Hi. The multi-quick is great, but I don't like the fact that it's only one speed (which seems to be High Speed). Using the whisk attachment just about ensures that you'll redecorate the kitchen with a splatter pattern in about 3 seconds flat. :-)
