REVOLUTIONARY MUSIC FOR INTELLIGENT PEOPLE
2001-07-03
Taco's first album is one of the milestones in the entire history of recorded music..Putting on the ritz with its complex musical structure and blazing strong commentary on the politics of dancing is nothing less than stunning..But of course Taco is an artist who is more than a one hit wonder..I strongly recommend his entire catalog for serious audiophiles.
Recreations of 1930s hits recorded in the early 1980s

To my knowledge, this is one of the few TACO recordings commercially available. This CD contains some tracks from the excellent first TACO album "After Eight" (1982); among them, "Puttin' on the Ritz", "Cheek to Cheek", "Singin' in the rain", and "La vie en rose", are the best. I really enjoy listening these four songs. There is also some material from "Let's Face The Music" (1984), but it's not very good. Perhaps, the only good song from that material is "You are my lucky star".
