Good Movie With Some Crass Humour That May Not Be For Everyone's Tastes!

I like Monty Python and I also like pirate movies so when this movie was shown commercial free and unedited on cable I taped it and watched it the other day and though it's not my all time favorite pirate movie it does as a spoof of pirate movies have it's funny moments and three of my favorite Monty Python members, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle and John Cleese are in it, though it would have been nice if Terry Jones and Michael Palin had been in it too! The movie has a big cast that also stars, Peter Cook, Peter Boyle, Martin Hewitt, Marty Feldman, James Mason, Madeline Kahn and Cheech and Chong and also look out for in a small roll Bernard Fox who played Doctor Bombay in the classic TV sitcom Bewitched. I wonder why Yellowbeard isn't on DVD yet. The cable station I recorded the movie from showed it in fullscreen and I would think that a movie like this would had to have been filmed in widescreen so maybe someday a widescreen DVD will be available. This is a good movie, but in case you don't like low brow movies I think you should be aware that some of the jokes are a little sick

YEP, another off the wall comedy with the likes of the 'Python' crew, Mel Brookes, and Marty Feldman...to name but a few...where could you go wrong! This hilarious comedy is definitely Under-rated..with a capital U. If it was re-released today it would still probably bomb...because the film critics who review these things..haven't got the foggiest notion what a good wholesome comedy IS! get it! you will NOT be disappointed!.

I ordered this "video" for my parents for christmas. Instead of the VIDEO TAPE I ordered I received a DVD that doesn't even work. I was ripped off...Be careful, these wonderful people who supposedly are going to send you what you want obviously do not, and now the great person providing the "Video Tape" is no longer advertising their copies. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too thank you for taking advantage of people for the holidays!! Just another lesson learned for me.
Great Movie but Buyer Beware

I was dumb enough to order the DVD copy of this movie from a seller in NY (just like the one selling it now) who is no longer listed on Amazon.com as a seller. What I did not notice of the write up was that it said it was a quality of 7-out-of-10 copy of the movie from a VHS tape. I was not pleased with this but I did miss it and let that go as a learning experiance. When the DVD copy came in an unmarked package with no return address I begain to worry as to what I really got. Turns out it was a copy of the correct movie but it was more of a quality of 3-out-of-10 and a length of 7-out-of-10. Yes length, the last 20 minutes of the movie was missing.
I could be wrong but I thought it was illegal to copy and distribute copys of copyrighted materal. So be careful where you order items and make sure you scroll to the bottom to read ALL of the fine print.

Please, please, PLEASE release this on DVD! This movie is one of the funniest of all time. If you like Monty Python or Mel Brooks, this is a movie for you.
