First of all, it should be known that the storyline of this one-shot OAV is NOT related in anyway to the storyline of the Burn-Up W/X-cess series. The title is near-identical and the basic theme (comedy/action about buxom, unconventional Tokyo police babes vs. nasty criminals in the not-too-distant future) is similar, some of the ADV English voice actors have roles in both, (Amanda Winn, Tiffany Grant and Kimberly Yates,) but the story is completly independant from the series. And no, the Maki that we meet here is NOT a younger version of the Maki from Burn-Up W/X-cess series.O.K., enough yammering, here's the plot. (Admitedly a fairly simple one, given the shortness of this anime.) Criminals are kidnapping young women and selling them one the market as sex slaves to rich guys. Maki, Remmi and Yuka are three traffic cops who decide to go undercover at the dance club where many of the recent kidnappings have occured to see if they can get to the bottom of things. But things go bad and Yuka ends up getting kidnapped herself! The next day Maki and Remmi, along with their male police buds, go to the chief to see if he can do anything about it. However, Yuka's kidnapper, McCoy, is very wealthy and powerful and has friends in high places and the chief is convinced there's nothing that can be done, so Maki and Remmi, putting their carrers as well as their lives at risk, steal some body armor suits, weapons and an armored truck and go off on a personal quest to rescue Yuka and take down the slave ring while they're at it.
My question is, why is this still not available on DVD? Has it not sold enough copies? C'mon, ADV, we're eagerly waiting!
