ken curtis at his best
2002-07-07
As a small child I could not sleep on friday nights because the next chapter of "Don Daredevil" would be showing the next day at the local picture show. As a confirmed "front row kid" I saw all the serials of the time and this one stands out in my memory as one of the best. I cannot say that this is good adult fare but it is one of the best of the genre.
No one named Zorro, but he looks like him
2002-05-29
This was one of Republic's last Zoro serials. Zorro does not ride in this serial, since Disney now owned the rights to the Zorro character. This film, filled with stock footage from Zorro's Black Whip, starred Ken Curtis as Don Daredevil. Curtis also plays Don Daredevil's second identity, Lee Hadley. Hadley is visiting his cousin Patricia Doyle (Aline Towne), who is in danger of having her land robbed by land thieves. Hadley aids his cousin and her neighbor Gary Taylor (Robert Einer) by disguising as Don Daredevil, taking over the role from his grandfather.
No Z's here
2002-04-29
This was one of seven serials made by Republic Pictures known as the Zorro serials. The truth is, only Zorro's Fighting Legion was a true Zorro story. This serial had the hero in a Zorro-like costume to use stock footage from previous films. The hero in this film is against a land-grab scheme.
A Zorro Restart
2000-08-17
This is sort of a restart for Zorro Fans. It is based on the Zorro stories and re invented . The usually good story line and interesting plot. Good entertainment for the fans of this genre.
