I cannot stop watching this tape! It is so good! Great twists in the plot, some stuff you don't really expect, and some you do. I really love the addition of the new bad guy, Valgaav, to the Slayers series. Definately one of the better enemies. If you love Slayers, then this tape is a must see! Although I do suggest watching the first three tapes from the Try series first, since otherwise you would be totally lost. ^^'
Personally? I loved it. But that doesn't mean everyone will.

Being one of those scary freaks who actually ENJOY the serious, darker side of Slayers immensely, this tape is probably one of my favorites. If you're in for Slayers primarily and chiefly for the humor, I doubt this is going to be one of your favorites-- little to no humor except a few faint sparks here and there. However-- this is a very plot-centered tape, and gets EXTREMELY intense at points. Xellos begins to show his sadistic, nasty side-- in a surprisingly disturbing and violent scene, at least for Slayers. The creators start playing with your mind in terms of who a certain character belongs with romantically, revelations are unfolded, along with some fast and furious action scenes. Episode 12 didn't really catch my attention-- but 13 and 14, OY dear God. Tara Jayne was good, as always, and I was quite impressed by Scottie Ray. (Yay! Gutteral screaming noises!) .... ah well. Anyway. Get this tape. It's worth it just to see Lina glomp Val. (Except, not really. But... SNICKER.)

Continuing the Slayers tradition of overwhelming odds and invincable enemies, the climax of the first four tapes of the Slayers series ends with a bang. Like all The Slayers series, this tape has a well tuned blend of comedy and action that has made Slayers a favorite of Anime fans. Fans will not be disapointed with tape.
